Improve practice performance with Medisoft Version 15

The Medisoft® practice management system from McKesson is a market-leading solution used by more than 70,000 providers to improve cash flow and increase office productivity. Medisoft streamlines all routine practice tasks — including scheduling, billing and collections management — to help manage the business of healthcare so your office can focus on delivering patient care.

Medisoft software plays an integral role in the patient encounter process beginning with scheduling. The standard Medisoft scheduling engine replaces inefficient paperbased schedules with an electronic view of your office resources, making it quick and easy to schedule, move or cancel appointments.

The Office Hours Professional add-on module makes the
front desk even more efficient, enabling staff to:

  • Use a color-coded
appointment template to reserve time slots for certain types of appointments
  • Track the status of appointments and mark them as unconfirmed, confirmed, checked in, being seen, checked out, missed or cancelled.
  • Display appointments based on office preference, such as: by day, week or month; by provider; or by equipment or treatment room.
  • Print patient-specific superbills for all appointments scheduled.
  • Produce a list of a patient’s upcoming appointments.

From front office to back office, Medisoft helps make sure you receive the maximum reimbursement for the services you provide. Key software features include the ability to:

  • Verify insurance eligibility before scheduled appointments.
  • Collect co-payments and balances due at the time of check-in.
  • Add payments directly into the Medisoft billing system from the scheduling screen.
  • Produce a “quick receipt” for payments collected up-front.
  • Set up patients using the Patient Quick Entry feature, which consolidates billing data entry into one easy screen.
  • Submit claims electronically and manage claims by resubmitting individual claims or batches of claims when there is a dispute with a payor.
  • Produce professional, easy to read patient statements.
  • Automatically populate the Collections Worklist for follow-up with payors and patients on unpaid claims.

Accounting/Billing

The following new features and enhancements improve the accounting, billing and collection processes to make staff more efficient and help practices get paid faster.

  • Missed Co-pay Remainder Statement - Missed co-payments are now reflected as part of a patient’s balance on the remainder statement.

Usability

Current Medisoft customers that upgrade to Medisoft v15 will enjoy several new features and enhancements that improve the usability of the software.

  • Default Printer Option - A menu item has been added to launch a new Default Printer dialog window to make it easier to change default printers.
  • Improved Sorting - Various new sorting options display sorts in descending order, enable users to change sorting order by clicking on a column heading, and/or save the last sort on a per-workstation, per-login basis.
  • Quick Ledger Edit Option - Quick Ledger now enables users to modify existing notes and create new ones.
  • Rejection Code Hot-key - New/Edit hot-key functionality has been added to the Rejection Code field in the Apply Payments to Charges screen.
